BV West Principal's Message

 

BV West Community,

My name is Josh Martin and I am the building principal at BV West Elementary.  This is my 10th year in education.  I graduated from THE Ohio State University for both my undergraduate and graduate degree. Before coming to BV West, I taught math and science, was a math specialist, and served as middle school athletic director at Olentangy Liberty Middle School. As many of you know, I spent the last 2 years as the assistant principal here at BV West. I am so excited that I get to continue to be a part of the Buckeye Valley West family this year as building principal!

My wife and I have two kids of our own, who both are students here at West. We spend a lot of time with our families, who both live close by, taking our kids to any one of their 500 after school events, and spending time with friends. We love that our kids get to go to such an amazing school!

A Little About BV West:

West is a building full of amazing students and staff. We all strive to follow and teach our school expectations, RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE, and SAFE, every day. All of our rules and expectations center around these words, so we encourage families to talk with your students about what each of these words mean in school, in the community, and at home.

We aim to serve each student by providing them with the instruction, support, and care they need to grow as learners. We have an incredible staff of teachers and support staff here at West. Each member of our team truly cares about students, and we strive to make each decision based on what is best for our students.  

Our community is what makes West a truly special place. We hope that you will get involved with our PTO, volunteer in your student’s class or for a field trip, or come in for a lunch with your student. We value forming strong partnerships with the families of our students, and we hope you can find a way to get involved in the great things that are happening at West!
