BV West Principal's Message

Principal Picture

BV West Community,

My name is Michelle Howard and I am the building principal at BV West Elementary.  This is my 19th  year in education.  Prior to coming to Buckeye Valley, I was serving as an assistant principal and head building principal within Marion City Schools.  Before that, I taught multiple grade levels in Marion City Schools.  My family moved to Marion, twelve years ago from New York State where I was teaching 5th grade for my husband's job.

My husband and I have two children, a daughter and a son and like many of you, our kids keep us busy with their sporting events and other activities.

I am thrilled to be a part of BV West!

A Little About BV West:

As a building, we have been working with the students about what it means to be Respectful, Responsible and Safe.  This is our PBIS (Positive Behaviors Interventions and Supports) cheer that we say every morning during announcements.  Please talk to your child about what it means to be Respectful, Responsible, and Safe.

This year we are excited to announce that we have started a Kindness Team.  This team is led by our two school counselors and their mission is to spread random acts of kindness and cheer around our building.  Our school counselors have worked closely with our 4th and 5th grade teachers to select students to be a part of this team.

Throughout the school year, exciting things are happening in our classrooms and on our campus. We encourage our families to get involved by joining the PTO and by becoming a parent volunteer for your child’s classroom.

Educationally Yours,

Michelle Howard, Principal
